After speaking with several students & checking the station work, I have decided to postpone the test until Friday.

We are ahead of schedule, so this delay shouldn't be a problem. Come with all review materials for class tomorrow. We will review dichotomous key and branching diagram more in depth.
 
Hi class, one of you have emailed me regarding the homework, and I think they are excellent questions so I thought I would make a post. I hope you find this helpful:

For the PBS activity, I didn't see where it said Domain or the scientific name.

P.S. Are we supposed to fill out the ther side of the vocab sheet? I did, but what should my re-defined definitions be?

Hi _________,  

Remember from our station work that there are three domains [archaea, bacteria, eukarya]. So according to the definition of those, which domain would animals & plants fall under? [the answer is eukarya]   Also, the scientific name is genus name + species name. For example, the polar bear's scientific name would be Ursus maritimus.   And yes, please complete the back of the vocab sheet as well. If you were to study the kingdoms & domains for the test how would you study  for them? For example, for kingdom Animalia, the defintion is "kingdom Animalia contains complex, multicellular organisms that don’t have cell walls, are usually able to move around,"   but you wouldn't necessary study the definition word-for-word like that. You would say something like, "organisms can generally move, is made up of many cells, don't have cell walls (like plants)"   Have a great weekend as well. Excellent questions.
